Description
Using the baseband unit of the AN/GRC-245, the new RFU permits full duplex operation at traffic rates up to 34 Mb/s anywhere in the full military band 4 frequency range. The band 4 RFU supports all of the features of the enhanced software defined SCA AN/GRC-245 radio
In many operational scenarios frequency flexibility is very important and the new RFU provides an additional frequency band to the current band 1 and 3+ operation of the HCLOS™ radio.
The RFU operates with a dual beamwidth flat panel antenna or can be used with an external dish antenna depending upon the application. Operating with the existing AN/GRC-245 base band unit the new RFU provides greater than 35 km range
The unit is powered and controlled from the HCLOS™ BBU via a single coaxial cable.
